The Apostle Paul wrote, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:6)
That simple picture captures how ministry works. People plant. People water. God brings the growth.
Over time, Hilltop Baptist Church has come to see the need for space that better supports that work—a place where teaching, mentoring, fellowship, service, and community life can happen naturally and often. The building itself is not the point. What matters is creating room for people to invest their gifts and relationships so that God can give the increase.
We often describe this vision as a gospel greenhouse: a space designed to nurture growth, provide structure and protection, and allow life to flourish over time. Just as a greenhouse does not create growth on its own, this building is meant to support the work God is already doing in and through people.

What This Space Makes Possible
When people have room to gather, ministry often happens in quiet, ordinary, and meaningful ways. Teaching takes place in smaller settings where questions can be asked and relationships can grow. Conversations continue after services. Meals are shared. Young people find space to belong. Community members are welcomed without feeling like guests who don’t quite fit.
The planned multi-purpose building is designed to support these kinds of moments. It includes several classrooms that provide space for teaching, mentoring, and small groups. A large, gym-sized gathering area creates room for worship services, events, recreation, and community activities, with a stage that can support teaching, music, and presentations.
A food preparation area makes shared meals and fellowship possible, allowing gatherings to extend beyond a single hour. Restrooms and support spaces ensure the building can function comfortably for larger groups. A mezzanine overlooking the main event space adds flexibility—creating additional room for viewing, connection, or smaller gatherings while remaining part of the larger community experience.
Together, these spaces are intended to work as a whole, allowing many different gifts to be planted and watered in one place. The goal is not to fill a building with activity, but to create an environment where ministry can grow naturally as God brings the increase.
Why Now
This vision did not emerge quickly. For several years, the church has prayed, discussed, and discerned how best to move forward. Early plans were intentionally scaled back as leadership and the congregation sought a design that preserved the heart of the vision while practicing wise stewardship.
The result is a smaller, more focused plan that maintains the essential elements needed to support ministry and community life. After careful review and congregational approval, the church committed to moving forward in clearly defined phases, trusting God while remaining financially responsible.
An Invitation Without Pressure
Everyone participates in the life of the church differently. Some serve quietly. Some encourage. Some pray faithfully. Some feel led to give financially. Each response is personal and guided by individual conviction.
If you have taken the time to read this, it likely reflects a shared care for the church and its ministry. We invite you to learn more, to pray, and to engage in whatever way God leads—without pressure or expectation.
